I would like to welcome you to my homepage. You will mostly find an archive
of my past and present work here, although, if you look hard
enough, you might find the odd piece of private information as well.

My professional interests include Grid Computing, stochastic optimization procedures,
management sciences, Linux and finding ways of coping with overly bureaucratic
organisations. Privately I'm interested in at least four of these topics (plus
a few others).

I have studied physics at the University of Bochum in Germany. Until
July 2001 I was a member of SuSE Linux AG, then Europe's leading Linux
distributor. Among other duties, I have served as founder and Managing
Director of SuSE's UK office (SuSE Linux Ltd) near London / UK. Before
I moved to London, I was Technical Manager of SuSE's US office in
Oakland/California. In January 2004, I have finished a Ph.D., related
to particle physics and distributed computing. Since then I have been
active in the field of Grid Computing at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe,
Germany's largest independent research institution and home to one of
the biggest scientific cluster systems in Europe. I am today active in
various EU projects and gremiums related to Grid
Computing, alongside MBA studies.
